Raritan E-zine 02 - April 2011

Dear IT Professional,

A warm welcome to the latest issue of the Raritan E-zine. In this issue we follow up on the launch of our exciting new ‘Smart Rack’ technology that was recently unveiled at the AFCOM Data Center World Expo in Las Vegas and announce the launch of our new KVM trade-in program that could give you up to $3,000 in return for your old KVM/Serial switches!

We also discuss the use of ‘Free’ embedded service processors (ESP) and to see whether they really deliver what they promise.
As you can probably see, the E-zine has undergone some changes in lay-out which we hope you like. They are designed to give our readers an easier and faster way of finding the information they need.

As always, should you have any feedback or have topics you want us to cover, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I hope you enjoy reading this issue

Stuart Hopper, VP Sales and Marketing - Europe & Africa

You may already know that many servers come with embedded service processors. What you may not know is that a service processor from a single server manufacturer is usually a dedicated – and limited – solution for their equipment only. This means you have to buy more than one solution to manage the variety of equipment that you have… and even purchase additional licenses to make them perform with full functionality. Factor in legacy servers, blade servers, virtualized servers and serially-accessed devices, and you could be looking at a management quagmire. To overcome these data center challenges, do read on.
